As a direct way to contribute to the victims of the Boxing Day tsunami tragedy, we would like to solicit your generosity towards a direct charity program to rebuild schools in Aceh.
This effort is driven directly in Indonesia by our colleague publisher, The Femina Group, who had been working together with the local Education Department in bringing education tools to school children even before the disaster struck. As you know, over the last two years the war-torn Indonesian province has experienced more problems than we could imagine and the local children have been affected the most.
However, in view of the present substantial international humanitarian relief, there is now an opportunity to rebuild from scratch a province and to bring peace and hope to the people and especially the children of Aceh. This is why we are coming to you to bring your donation directly to a specific program administered by Femina Group and monitored by Media Convergence Asia-Pacific. Our estimate to rebuild one school is around Rupiah 250 million or about US$27,000. Maybe, together we could rebuild more than one school.
This action will be fully accountable and transparent. All operational costs will be covered directly by Femina Group and we will report to you on a regular basis to inform you about the progress and effectiveness of this charity for which every penny of your donations will benefit directly the children of Aceh.
