Japan will finally experience growth in 2001: Whereas the magazine market is predicted to have lost advertising revenues of about ¥3.8 billion (-0.9%) this year, it is expected to grow by 1.2% and 0.9% in 2001 and 2002, when it is expected to reach a volume of ¥423 billion in magazine expenditure.

China is the regional leader in compound growth rate (and no, it is not yet the biggest market after Japan) with 20.6% this year, growing to 22.8% next year and 18.5% in 2002, when the market size should reach RMB1.5 billion.

Thailand should expand by 10% this year, followed by a 10.1% and 10.2% expansion in 2001 and 2002, when the magazine industry will receive Baht 2.6 billion in advertising expenditure.

Singapore is enjoying one of its best years: The increase in magazine spend this year should be 9.1%. However, growth spend should slow down to 6.9% next year before rising to 10.4% in 2002 when the market should reach a level of Sin$85 million.

Indonesia is coming out of its economic crisis: The 2000 expansion should reach 15% and be equally repeated in both 2001 and 2002, when Indonesian magazines should receive Rph415 billion in advertising spend.

Malaysia is jumping to a brisk 9.6%: This year's figure is to be compared with a negative growth of 6.3% last year. An increase of 19.3% should occur next year, followed by a 13.2% growth in 2002, when the magazine market should reach Ringit 154 million.
